About Kahikatea Walk
This short track follows 0.7 km as a track, near Thames in Waikato.
A short, family-friendly walk through native plantings in the Kauaeranga Valley near Thames, leading to an old kauri-logging water race, with a nature treasure-hunt option for children.
Graded easy, it climbs about 8 m overall, pitching up to 8 % at its steepest, and takes about 9m to walk.
Dogs are welcome here on the lead. DOC’s own wording: “Dogs on a leash only.”.
